Our terms are pretty simple. AdWords Advantage are willing to let any user print, download or save one copy of any of our content for personal use. You can even forward it to a friend under the same circumstances.

As we said, we want people to benefit from our insights. There isn’t much point in doing what we do otherwise! We’re just not crazy about the idea of other businesses taking the content we created and using it to turn a profit.

If you want to share our content, feel free – but only as a recommendation. Please also include a hyperlink to our site. We like eyeballs on our content as much as the next business. Be aware that any kind of data mining or automated collection from AdWords Advantage is verboten, though.

So, in a nutshell, personal use and recommendations are fine. Attempts to achieve commercial gain through our copy, however – such as plagiarising our copy wholesale or copying any images and cropping out our logo – are not. To do that, you’ll need our permission.

CAN I USE ADWORDS ADVANTAGE CONTENT IN A PROFESSIONAL SETTING IF I ASK NICELY?

Quite possibly. Business is all about building relationships, so if we think that people would benefit from you sharing or using our content, we may well permit you to use it. Any commercial use must be approved by AdWords Advantage, though. A, “take first, beg forgiveness later” approach will be considered a wilful breach of our copyright.

To obtain permission to use our content in a commercial setting, email us on XXX or write to the following address. Explain what content you wish to use, along with the reason why and where it will appear. Don’t be afraid to go into detail. HOW IS COPYRIGHT LAW ENFORCED? (TIME TO GET SERIOUS)

If we spent all our time surveying the web looking for copyright infringement, we would never get any work done. As a result, we’re willing to assume that everybody is willing to play by the rules. All the same, do not mistake our trust for apathy. If we discover a breach of copyright, we will take it seriously. This could include taking legal advice.

Don’t panic – we won’t be sending a pack of burly men to your door. We completely understand that sometimes copyright is breached purely by accident, or through ignorance of the law. We will initially just notify you of the breach and ask you to remove our content from your corner of the internet. If you do so promptly, then no harm no foul. We will not take the issue any further.

We do not enjoy being ignored though, or having our request declined. If we have good reason to believe that you are willfully and knowingly continuing to breach our copyright, we will pursue financial damages through the courts and apply for an injunction to prevent you accessing our site in future.

IS ADWORDS ADVANTAGE BREACHING YOUR OWN COPYRIGHT?

We firmly believe that what is good for the goose is good for the gander, and we have no intention of being hypocritical. Here at AdWords Advantage, we go out of our way to respect the copyright of others.

However, sometimes things can slip through the net, and we occasionally hire external contractors that may not understand the law of the land.
